Nanjangud – Nilambur Railway Line (176km)

The proposed BG line provides the missing link between Nilambur in Malappuram District of Kerala and Nanjangud in Chamaraja Nagar District of Karnataka. Nilambur is an existing Railway station connected to Shoranur. Nanjangud is an existing Railway Station in Mysore – Chamarajanagar sections. The proposed BG line provides direct short distance connectivity between Kerala and Karnataka and the distance from Ernakulam to Mysore will get reduced to 361 Kms from the existing 776 Kms.  Similarly the distance to Bangalore will get reduced to 500 Kms from the existing 637 KMs.
